The Firm

An established practice, deliberately kept small

Spencer Tarr Malan Geyer Inc. has practised from Linbro Park, Sandton, since its incorporation in 2007.

About us

Experience, without the layers

There is a point at which a law firm becomes large enough that the person you met is no longer the person doing your work. We have chosen to stay on the other side of that line.

The firm was incorporated in 2007 and practises as attorneys. Our work spans litigation in the High Court and Magistrates' Courts, matters before the Companies Tribunal, conveyancing and notarial practice, commercial agreements, regulatory compliance and the administration of estates.

Our clients include individuals, private companies and close corporations, trusts, and non-profit organisations. Many have been with the firm for years, which we take to be the only meaningful measure of whether the arrangement is working.

We are regulated by the Legal Practice Council and hold a trust account in accordance with the Legal Practice Act, 28 of 2014.

How we work

Administration is not an afterthought

Files are opened to a standard procedure, documents are named and filed to a fixed convention, and compliance requirements are tracked rather than remembered. It is the unglamorous half of legal practice, and it is where most of the avoidable damage is done. We would rather spend our effort there than explain later why something was missed.
